Is learning the French language hard?

Learning any language that you are not used to speaking is going to be somewhat difficult.

Some catch on and learn faster than others…it just depends on the person.

cool. so what about Italian, for you? coz i’m planning on taking up French and Italian language lessons

I take french and its pretty easy to learn. I know spanish(that was my first language) learned english in school..and well the only thing I can tell you.. Is that the french language most words are either similar to english and spanish. So u won’t get confuse on things and their meanings. :D

i was told that those who speak spanish as their first language learn french easier than those who dont speak spanish. so now i have to learn spanish and french!!!

If you really apply yourself it’s not terrible. I took 4 years of Honors French in high school and began taking French in college. We were required to speak every single day, and after a while it became second nature. Once you learn the basics (je, te, il/elle, nous, vous, ils/elles) and how to conjugate a few generic verbs (such as faire, avoir, aller), you’ll find that you have the basis to make a bunch of different sentences. If you already know other languages, you’ll find it pretty easy, and a lot of the words are close to English words, which makes it easier. And if you need any help, there seems to be a few people on the site (including myself) who know how to speak it, so you could always ask us for help :) Bonne chance!

Well at first it might seem hard, learning something new always takes it’s time and has it’s hard parts and easy parts. I don’t really know french, but when I came here and learned english it was tough, but then again it was easy, all it took it’s practice and not giving up.
