What language feature is this?

In the song Russians by Sting he sings

“Mr. Krushchev said we will bury you I don’t subscribe to this point of view It would be such an ignorant thing to do If the Russians love their children too How can I save my little boy from Oppenheimer’s deadly toy”

Oppenheimer was the father of the atomic bomb, one was called little boy, is that verse a metaphor?

Answer #1

I don’t really think that’s necessarily a metaphor. It isn’t really comparing one thing, to another thing. The whole thing seems pretty straightforward; talking about the horrors of the bomb. Unless, this song has an entirely different meaning from talking about the atomic bomb and is using the atomic bomb as a metaphor for that other meaning? Sorry, I don’t know the song.

Answer #2

The song is about the cold war and his hope that if Russians love their children that will stop them from using nuclear weapons

Answer #3

The metaphor is “deadly toy” and atomic bomb. I don’t think “little boy” is a reference to the bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima
