Korean girls can't be popular in high school?

Im in high school, and I feel like in Australia, Koreans can not be popular like Australian/france/etc girls… I get really sad about my culture. People expect aussies to party, go to a sleep over and do things, but they never expect a Korean or a Chinese to. They expect you to read books, solve maths problems…

Is it just me? What do you think?

its just you mate…

So…you’re stereotyping and then asking if the stereotype is correct? In some cases, I’d say stereotypes are a form of racism…exactly what you’re describing here, I’d call racism personally.

In other words: it’s just you.

Answer #3

Whitewing, what with the ‘aussies are racist’ bull-crap theory of yours?. If you have this mind set already, maybe it’s time for YOU to step outside of your little comforty square and get to know us.

Australia is one of the most multicultural countries in the world and when you’re in school you have a ‘fruit-salad’ of mix friends from different nationalities.

Answer #4

whether or not they expect you to be certain way shouldnt matter, just be whoever you want to and let people get to know you so any expectations they have of are are based on who you are, not your ethnicity. Dont get sad about your culture, it would be really boring if everyone came from the same background.

Fruitylicious, I know a awful lot of people who have had issues with racism in australia so maybe its not always just “bull-crap”

Hey Luthien and Whitewing, sorry about the ‘aussie is not racist’ statement from me…my answer did come across as harsh and rude towards you Whitewing, I havent known anyone who copped abuse personally so I was a tad biased with my answer. :)
