What kind of shop will repair wallets?

My wallet needs repairing, I’m not sure what sort of place to go to. Should I try a cobbler/shoe repair shop? An engraving shop? Clothing alterations?

Answer #1

why can’t you buy a new one or sew

Answer #2

The wallet was $2000 and I can’t afford a new one right now. I’m not very confident in sewing leather either lol

Answer #3

wait wait why would you buy a wallet that cost that much does it have tv on it?

Answer #4

Lol, I didn’t buy it myself. A friend brought it for me ages ago.

Answer #5

I’m assuming it’s leather? Usually any leather shop - they repair leather jackets, etc., so a wallet shouldn’t be a huge stretch for them.

Answer #6

agreed..i once had a bag i simply loved but the straps were getting all messed up so i had to get new ones sewed on. I couldnt do it bcz it was from leather…you need a person that deals with fixing purses & bags…usually a specialist that deals with it. I was fortunate to find one & he replaces all the straps for me.

with a wallet it is the same issue…i am not sure a leather clothing store will be able to fix it due to the material being lighter as the material of the wallet being thicker & heavier. They would need special attachments for the machine which if they dont specialize in sewing wallets will they even bother having an attachment like that!

I say your best bet would be to try to find someone who does bag & wallet repairs!

hope that helped. good luck.

Answer #7

A shoe repair shop will most likely do it. What’s it made out of?

Answer #8

They used to be called cobblers. Typically used to repair shoes & boots. In the 60’s and earlier there were hunderds all over.I remember my dad had his leather wallet fixed at a cobbler.
