Well, first off, congratulations and as my mother said “welcome to the start of womanhood”. Wearing tampons at first will probably feel kind of uncomfortable but practice makes perfect. Also when buying them make sure that you buy the slender type (I think Tampax makes them) they are skinnier so you should have an easier time inserting them. If you choose to wear pads I believe that the Always brand also makes slim fit ones. Pads are a little more uncomfortable (especially in hot weather) but you need to use what makes you comfortable and not worry about what your friends are using. Pads do however kind of make you feel like you’re wearing a diaper. Pamprin does get rid of a lot of the symptoms that goes along with your period like, headaches, bloating, cramps, b*tchiness, etc. If you only have cramps, Aleve works really good for that. You can also use a hot water bottle or an electric heating pad. Also, stretching out your stomach muscles helps too (like if you have an excercise ball and you lay on your back on it, your stomach will stretch). If you have any questions you can FunMail me.

Wearing tampons with a pantiliner is a good thing, so you do not leak. Pamprin could become your very best friend before and during your period. You don’t have to change your tampon every time you go to the bathroom. Don’t forget to change your tampons a few times per day. You sure can go swimming with your period, just wear a tampon =) Tampons are the way to go. Pads feel like you’re wearing a diaper. If the tampon doesn’t feel comfortable at first, you are not inserting it properly. Keep trying until you get it right. Keep yourself really clean down there during your period or others could smell you and that’s not a good thing =) There’s not much you can’t do while having your period…I wouldn’t suggest swimming with sharks or anything…lol. Stay away from wearing white or lighter colored shorts/pants/skirts during your period…just in case things dont stay where they’re supposed to. Use a hot pad for cramping, it really really helps. That’s about all I can think of right now. Hope I helped =) Congrats!

I just started my, literally, just started in 7th hour. I dont how when I should start using tampons? any advice need it despretly. it isnt really a flow more gooey, is that normal? Does it hurt to put in a tampon? never tried one kinda scared to. I dont want to tell anyone. except my mom and dad. I get really bossy, b*thchy, sad, and emotional. What should I do for my mood swings? Like when I told the nurse what happened I felt like I was going to start bawling. I didnt want to start crying because my eyes would get all red and I still had to go back to class. Any advice for any of this FunMail me thanks. Sydney

ye I avoid skirts on my period unless im wearing dark tights , and if your like me ( really heavy 8 day long periods) you should wear 2 pairs of underwear like a tight pair over the first pair or when your at home wear leggings under your jeans it will stop you from leaking and makes things comfier

and quoting my mother from when I started a couple years ago… “omg you can have babies now” lol
