Is it love or just lust?

Lust focuses mainly on the sexual aspects of admiration for another person. It involves being aroused by the sight of, and thoughts of the person. Daydreams about sexual activity with them are combined with involuntary sexual response especially if in physical contact with them. Lust tends to occupy a lot of time and thought.

Love is essentially a crush that has been deemed acceptable and taken root, and allowed to become real. A deep respect, understanding, knowledge, and acceptance of the person is gained. Sexual attraction, while desirable, is no longer essential to create the bond between the partners.

For you at 16, it could just be yr hormone working more than anything. You obviously LIKE her to think you may love her. Love is a weird thing and nobody truly knows. Perhaps time may the answer to your question. The other thing that I have seen and experienced is if you are willing to put up with her crap against your own interests then the probability of you loving her is there. I’m not saying it is healthy as everything has and should have its limits - one can take only so much crap. Like the song goes: love, pain and the whole damn thing!
