If you are thinking of buying somebody their birthstone as a birthday present you need to decide whether you want to get the birthstone for the calander month in which they were born - ie: June or for their sign of the Zodiac, which depends on what date in June they were born. Combine the two and you have 12 stones to choose.

If you are thinking about a stone that represents the calendar month of June then you can choose from agate, alexandrite, chalcedony, emerald, moonstone and pearl. If you want a stone that represents Gemini and Cancer, the Zodiacal signs that span June, then you can add citrine, chrysoprase, ruby, sapphire, tiger’s eye and white sapphire.
