jobs for felons

As a felon in Arkansas, I have found that it is hard for a female felon to find a job that pays ,more than minimum wage. Does anyone know where I can find a higher paying job?

Unfortunately you are in a state that doesn’t pay too much in most jobs. The cost of living for taxes, property, and expenses are some of the lowest in the US, however I doubt that makes you feel too much better about your situation. A lot of other states pay a lot more even for felons. In San Francisco the minimum wage is $8 an hour, but the average rent for a studio is over a thousand. You might qualify for Housing Assistance or other government assistance.

To find higher paying jobs in Arkansas you need to get training to something that is niche. Trade work like carpentry, plumbing, and painting pay extremely well in the metro areas and is available to anyone really. The one problem is jobs that require you to be “bonded”. Keep checking the Employment Department for job openings or look into programs that could retrain you with a college education (ie GreenPeace, ARMY, NAVY, etc)
