Itchy help pleae

I have poisin ivy I am using benadryl itch stopping gel I am wondering what else I can do to make it go away or do I go to the doctor?

Answer #1

I feel for you. Poisin ivy is a very lousy thing to suffer from but it is treatable. The ivy has an oil in it that when it gets into your skin it causes the reaction. Stick with the Benadryl gel. In any event, DO NOT SCRATCH. You will spread the oils to wherever you scratch. And it WILL spread if you do. Calomine lotion works as well. It looks like Pepto in color but soothes it as well. If the intensity of the flare up is too much then a doctor visit might be the best way to cure it.
