Is www.myspace.com just a place to hook up?

Is “www.myspace.com” just a place to hook up? I have heard some stories of people getting in seriously bad relationships from meeting people on Myspace. Is it safe, is there a better place, or is there a better use for myspace,com?

I’d have 2 agree with dawnslight. No matter what site u go to, you’ll find people trying to “hook-up” with someone. I don’t think ANY of these sites are truly safe because you never know who you’re really talking to at first. You never know anyone’s true intentions either. I think alot of people go on sites like myspace looking for relationships that’s why they end up disappointed. I’ve met a few really interesting people around the “net” tho. I actually had someone come visit my city during the summer and we hung out for a few days and had a “ball”. But we didnt meet on myspace or any sites geared towards “hook-ups”. Plus we talked on the phone or by emails for months first. I personally don’t trust anyone who comes on the “net” LOOKING for love. But if you just want to meet new people and maybe make a friend or two I think you’ll have more success.

Hi materialguy

If people are going to use the internet to meet people, you are going to meet some interesting people for sure. I don’t think it matters which site you go to they are either all looking for the same thing or a place to play with people’s minds. Don’t get me wrong I’m sure there is some good things as the results of these sites with genuine people. Be safe !
