Will urine help a torn Achilles?

I tore my achiles a few months ago, an I asked my dance teacher what 2 do an she said to dip a cloth in my urine [ewww, I know] and wrap it around my tendon. has anyone ever hear of this before? im kinda creeped out an dont want to try it unless I know it really works.

Answer #1

I’ve heard of using urine to heal cuts faster, not that I would EVER try it. But I don’t see how it would help your tendon. I would just visit a doctor to see what could MEDICALLY help you out!

Good Luck!

Answer #2

My boyfriend tore his also. I honestly don’t think that would help what so ever. I have taught dance for years and also studied natural medicine and never heard of that. the best thing is to ask your doctor, and keep it exercised once directed by your doctor. don’t let it get stiff. once the pain goes away and your doc says it safe, get into physical therepy to get it moving otherwise you will never have full extension and your releve will lack along with many other tech departments. good luck toots! that must really suck since dance must be your passion! I can’t even imagine! HAPPY HEALING!

Answer #3

I am Cherokee and my Grandmother told me to use urine to cure my dry hands! LOL! Nope, that is not me.

Answer #4

IT IS BS

Answer #5

I would not ask your teacher what to do for a headache if I was you. . .

Answer #6

Urine therapy is malarkey. Talk to a doctor.

Answer #7

I’ve never heard of that, but I’ve never had any problems with my tendons. I would ask a doctor, not your dance teacher though.

Answer #8

I’d trust my Doctor, not my medically-inclined dance teacher…Hope you feel better soon !!
