Is the world really ending?

I just read that the world is going to end in 2012.. Thats like 4 years. Is it true!? Man I’m super scared now! Ha I’m crying. Someone tell me, Is it really going to end!?

Only God knows the timing of these events:

My understanding, the world will end as we know it - whether a new creation or rejuvenated hard to tell - only God know when - what will happen is covered in the book of Revelation - the reason why is so those whose names are written in the ‘Book of Life’ (persons who have accepted salvation) will now live without any evil, pain, tears, etc…Hope this helps clarify, take care !!

Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.

Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

When you say the world ending, do you mean Jesus coming back? But there is no need to be scared. 1) because NO ONE knows the day or time Jesus is coming back, Jesus didnt even know (when He was on earth anyway). People spend so much time worrying about when He’s coming back that they need to worry more about making sure they are going to be ready when He comes, because if they are then it doesnt matter when He does. 2) Jesus said He was not coming back until the Gospel was spread to every nation and person. So I dont think it’s anytime soon, bc there are still nations and peoples who are have not even heard of God. He doesnt want anyone to be able to say, “Well I didnt know , no one told me.” when they get to the pearly gates. 3) His coming back will be sooo far from a sad time (if you’re ready), it will be a wonderful time bc of the wonderful place we’ll be going to, a place where there is no hurt, no pain, no tears, etc. Trust me it’s a much more wonderful place than this earth, and you wont be missing out in anything. In His presence there is FULLNESS OF JOY, and pleasures at his right hand forever:)

I was worrying about this too and the reason was because of something with the Mayan calender ending but people asked some decendents of the Mayans and they didn’t believe there would be an apocalypse, just a big change or a new era. don’t worry about it its wastes time. if it happens, everyone will experience it so your not alone. hope you feel better :)

well the only reason they are sayin that is because the aztec calendar ends in 2012… they never finished it… I guess…they said 2000 was the end of the world and clearly its not but I feel ya on being worried but I dont think it’ll happen

ok, the world IS ENDING! but why after 4 years?! :’( in four years it will be my first year in college! (poor me)!!! I want to live my life! im truly scared! muslims are lucky! they will ALL GO TO HEAVEN!!

^that’s true, just cause they died that day doesn’t mean satan came and did it… but I mean people were overreacting saying that THAT was when the world was ending and satan would come burn us all up and all that crap… :]

Its really an ongoing controversy, nobody really knows for sure. All these weird things are said and the things never happen (Just like what ‘tinatodder4’ said).

I gather the Mayans thought 2012 would be the end of THEIR era. Sad to say, their civilisation ended a long time ago now. They got that prediction wrong, so I’m happy to assume they got the others wrong too.
