Is limewire against the law?

People keep telling me it is against the law is that true

If you think artists should be paid for the music they make, then don’t use limewire.

If you think they should NOT be paid, then use it, but at your own risk. You can get caught and fined severely. Internet service providers in the US and the UK are legally required to provide authorities with your name and address.

It is not against the law to install and use Limewire.

However, it IS against the law to share or download songs/movies/games etc that are copyright which means 99.9% of all these type of things accessable via Limewire.
