Is it okay for a woman to propose?

Im 19 about to turn 20 and my boyfriend is 20 about to turn 21. We’re insanley in love and flat out I’m ready to tie the knot with him. We’ve both are very vocal about us eventualy getting married but I want the engagement now. He’s in the coast guard and is very intimidated by my strict marine father, so I know that if he wanted to pop the question, he would be waay to scared. Plus he’s always told me that the only way he would propose is that if he 100% knew that the answer would be yes. I know he doesn’t believe that I’m just as serious and ready for this step. But I am. I’ve always wanted to be asked, but I love him soo much that I’m willing to make the move. Would that be a good idea? Am I too young to get engaged?

Do it! Why not? Just hopefully it doesnt hurt him by taking away any hopes or anticipation he had about asking you!? I dont think your too young if you have thought it out, and believe you are mature enough to make a big commitment! Marriage is a big step!

Sure it’s okay! Absolutely nothing wrong with it at all, and in fact in some ways it is cooler than the guy doing it. If you want to, and are sure it’s a step you want to take, then go for it!

How long have you guys been dating? Marriage is a huge step, are you really sure you’re ready for that? You could instead of asking him to marry you instead get promise rings.
