Is it just me who disagrees on the war in Iraq?

I dont know about you but I am so over it. There seems to be no reason to be there … But if there is please enlighten me

Answer #1

Bush and Cheney lied to Congress to get us into the mess in Iraq. We are there in violation of international law. Bush and Cheney (who is really the president) need to be impeached, and they need to be tried as war criminals.

Answer #2

From what I’ve read, it’s cost $456 billion dollars so far. The long term cost to the american people, however, will be much higher, and the longer we are there, the more money we spend.

Have you heard Bush (or another president) exclaim “we have an educational emergency?” and then authorize that much money in spending? Nope.

And, did you know the US is the 2nd lowest of all the industrialized countries in education? Funny thing is - only the UK is lower, and they, also, were dumb enough to jump into Iraq at Bush’s behest.

So…irregardless of what the US did or didn’t do to Iraq, it’s far too much $$$ that we’re spending. Besides which, it’s the United Nations job, not the USA’s job, to help stabalize, build, and foster growth among less developed nations (LDC’s). Bush giving the excuse of “we can’t pull out now” is lunacy.

Answer #3

If we leave now terroists will take over more than likely. Plus Al gore and Hillary Clinton were for the war, actually alot were but now they act like they always new what would happen and they were never for it. The reason the whole fukin media is lieing about all this is cause they hate Bush. There is alot of positive things happening in Iraq that we don’t hear about.

Answer #4

if you pull out now you screw over so many people who think we are there to supervise things. thier government could possibly go into turmoil and we would look as thoguh we went in there for the sole purpose of ruining their government. doesnt matter if you and i are over it if you support your troops you support what they have to do.

Answer #5

Almost everyone now agrees that we shouldn’t have attacked and invaded Iraq.

I’ve talked to several people who at the beginning were big supporters of the war and even they now agree that it was a mistake.

Answer #6

Answer #7

I agree with you. I mean they did what they did and they should all come back home. Everything is DONE.

Answer #8

I love this country we live where we are free to form opinions and EXPRESS them freely.

Answer #9

I agree with you as it is being handled today! The war against terrorism, which is what the war in Iraq is about, should be in a “declared World War Three.” YES I SAID WORLD WAR THREE – AGAINST TERRORIST WHEREEVER THEY MAY BE. Then you will be safe to fly any plane without fear that someone might “take it over and fly it as a bomb” into some building killing you, the rest of the passengers, and many on the ground.

All the resources of this country should be mounted against "them." And by them I do not mean all Islamic people, I mean those leaders who are using "radical Islam" as a weapon of war in the same way the Germans used the buz-bombs which they launched against England.
This war is not a war over religion as the terrorists would have you believe. It is a war fought by "Hitler type" radical leaders who want to dominate all other peoples and force their ideologies upon them just the way Hitler , Tojo, and Mussolini wanted to force theirs upon the whole world.
We went after Germany, Italy, and Japan without going against all Germans, Italians, or Japanese in America or anywhere else in the world.
You haven't seen body parts, blood, and people's intestines splattered all over your dress, you haven't seen a little child's head in one place and it's body in another. You haven't had to pick someone's blown-out eye off your blouse. Go view again the horror films from the libraries showing people jumping off the top of the twin towers because they could not find any other way down--it was either jump to their deaths or burn. What a choice!
Who forced those terrorists that day? Who had a gun at their heads or a knife at their throats? Americans, our brothers and sisters, were the innocent ones forced to experience the whole mess. Try calling the children suvivors of fathers and mothers killed. Talk to them. Try calling and talking to the daughters and sons your same age of those heros that sacrificed their own lives taking that plane down in that field to prevent further horror. Ask them how they feel about this whole mess--and it is a mess. No war is anything else.
Yes it is terrible, but why were we forced into 9-11at the towers, at the Pentagon, and in the middle of that Penn. field? Why were the Spanish commuters forced into being blown-up in their train station, or the commuters in London. And if it happens to you what have you done to deserve being blown-up with your head in one place, your one breast still attached to your body and the other splashed all over someone's windshield?
Your questions are no different than those posed by the people of Europe during the 1930's, or Korean and China's women who served as love slaves to Japanese soldiers on the battle front.
But remember Winston Churchill's quote: "Those who do not know history are destined to repeat it."
All those who wanted to appease Hitler and Tojo by giving them "other people's countries" only made the actual war more costly in human life in the long run. It would have been less costly to "chop it off" near the beginning of the whole mess. We wouldn't have had to land on the beaches of France later with a terrible price in human life. Many concentration camps, where millions of people died, wouldn't have happened.
Why cannot we learn that "Freedom is not free! Those who are unwilling to die for freedom are unworthy to experience it, and will eventually lose it."
So remember this: There is an election going on right now. All these candidates want to be elected. They have found that using this war is a way to gain power --for this war overthrew the Republican Congress. Because of that success they will offer all the retoric they feel is needed to be elected.
But watch what happens after they are elected. It will be the same, because any person elected to the presidency "dares not give in to terrorism. " The price will be too high, or their spot in history will be worse than "Johnson's" right after the Civil War.
I'm sorry young lady, but many women cried because they lost their husbands and boyfriends in a similiar war fought 65-years-ago. The white crosses in Europe cemeteries testify to that. But I testify to you as a man who remembers that time of horror, I am so glad they were willing to make that supreme sacrifice. If they hadn't you might be forced to work in a house of prostitution today instead of enjoying asking your question on the Internet.
Answer #10

Probably…no seriously. Why doesn’t Bush admit that he has dug himself into a huge hole Iraq and then he would win back the respect of the whole international community.
