trispringer… I was NOT recommending aborting the pups. But spaying should be performed after they are delivered. duh.

Well its like a human getting prego on their first cycle.. I would just have her checked by a vet, it will prob be fine, but it might not b… The litter will probably be very small, and there are definately some higher risks…

Just look it up online, they will have some more factual info..

Well…it does happen…it’s not the best, that’s all I can tell ya…their bodies aren’t adult yet…

All it ever takes is a moment for good intentions to turn to schmit where dogs in heat are concerned…

My suggestion is to get her into the Vet before she whelps, so you have some idea of how many pups might be coming…and the Vet is aware that should something go wrong, he’ll be called in the night…

Get on line, and start doing your homework…so you’ll know what to do, and what to have on hand…”just in case”…being prepared is always easier than floundering in the dark…

Ditto to phrannie, I also had a female who was pregnant on her first cycle, ( came this way) She did awsome and was a great mother. Most worry that because she is not mature herself will she be a good mother, well nature does kick in and sometimes it does not. Just like a 13 yr old girl getting pregnant.

How about spaying your dog so this “accident” doesn’t happen again. The fact that you or your parents did not spay your dog, takes out the accident excuse. A pet is much happier and healthier when spayed/neutered.

Answer #6

Spaying your dog right now is called abortion which I am strongly against, it makes me sick when people recommend something like that!!! A lot of times mother dogs have a hard time with their first litter. You should probably take her in to see a vet and keep a very close eye on her to make sure when she does have the puppies that they are okay. Ask your vet for suggestions, but no matter what you should not abort the puppies, also I would start looking for homes for the puppies right away to make sure they will get good homes. If you need anymore help feel free to email me:)
