I dont belive that I have ever read any where in the bible that we should hunt for fun… Please help me out here im confused…

Answer #1

don’t judge that lady. just because she is christian doesn’t mean she can’t do things that aren’t related to church. she probably is a very believeing christian. she just likes to hunt. I know I am. I hunt every season. yet I also go to church and believe very much that Christ died for me and everyone. so don’t judge it usually gets people into trouble anyway.

Answer #2

According to the Bible in the garden of Eden all the animals lived peacefully and ate only plants. After the flood that wiped out the vegetation God told man that he could eat every moving thing on Earth. So, according to the Bible, before the flood man was vegetarian and God only allowed us meat after the flood. One could argue that today plant foods are plentiful again and that Christians should return to being vegetarian.

Some Christian vegetarians take “thou shall not kill” to include animals but otherwise there is no place in the Bible that I know of that condemns eating meat. Most Christians interpret the commandment as “thou shall not murder” or unlawfully take another person’s life (thus allowing war, self-defense, or executing convicted prisioners).

Answer #3

ONLY IF ITS NOT FOR FUN OR TO SHOW OFF. IF YOU KILL A SINGLE ANIMEL TO EAT IT ITS OKAY IF YOU KILL 10 TO FEED 2 PEOPLE ITS WRONG. GREED IS A SIN AND SO IS KILLING FOR FUN AND SHOWING OFF.

Answer #4

its so irritating how if you say you are “christian” people judge you. a long time ago christians hunted and fished… they made sacrifices…you can read about them in the bible…how they sacrificed their…cattle or whatever…of…fished and such.

just because someone is a christian, doesnt mean they sit in church all day everyday.

Answer #5

im not exactly sure because christians arnt all vegetarians, vegans, animal activists, ect I would assume it would be okay for there religion if it isnt though its most likely a new rule to christianity

Answer #6

hunting is hunting, no matter your religious beliefs. I have fun hunting. I eat what I kill. occasionally I do hunt for a big buck, most times I settle for a small buck or doe. the decision rests solely with me- no one else. the world is getting way too sensitive.

Answer #7

My family hunts and eat the deer meat In the bible they catch fish so whats the difference?

Answer #8

My family is Catholic and my dad and brothers hunt. I don’t see anything wrong with hunting if it’s to feed your family.

Answer #9

There’s a group of guys that meet and they are members of the Christian Outdoorsmen Organization. Most of the guys a avid marksmen and they do hunt deer, moose, turkey, bear. They are fully licensed with the appropriate tags etc. They also have competitions using fake targets for sport. The rule is “you kill it, you eat it”. { small disclaimer } This does not apply to fellow hunters. :)

Answer #10

In the Bible it states that God gave us the animals of the earth to eat, and blah blah blah.

Hunting for fun is okay with me, as long as you eat the meat. I’d rather hunt an animal that has had a full life than eat chicken meat that came from a chicken bred to die. That’s just my opinion.

My take on it is just don’t worry about it. I’m not a Christian, but I respect the religion and know a bit about it’s main points. One of those points is that God will judge all people, so we don’t really have to.

Answer #11

personally I think that all people that hunt are sick in the head… hunting animals that cant deffend themselves…wheres the fun in that…its wrong and immorral

and people who get kicks out of it need their heads testing!!!

Answer #12

lol! the wonders of punctuation!

Answer #13

I think that you’re going to find all varieties of opinion here from Christians, because I think that the Bible has nothing in particular to say which is anti-hunting. After all, in its earliest stages it describes hunter/gatherer communities, and then moves on to communities where animal herding (and therefore eating) were the way of life. A modern Christian has the luxury of deciding where their own ethics lie in terms of eating meat and /or hunting. For most of Bible times, there was little choice. Modern Christians will come up with a variety of ethical stances, depending on their background and inclinations.

My personal stance is that I eat meat but wouldn’t hunt. I have no quibbles with Christian friends who are hunters or vegetarians, though - I think that there is no one Christian point of view on this issue, and that there need’t be.

Answer #16

Is hunting a Christian, sport?

Yes, well every now and then I hunt Christians for sport, but with the rise of obesity it really isn’t much of a sport anymore but rather an act of mercy. :-)

This IS a joke

Answer #17

lol. This wins the FUNNIEST question award…

I don’t care who is doing the shooting, hunting is not something I support…
