Is Clinton the "new" Rocky?

PHILADELPHIA - Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton says she has something in common with legendary film boxer Rocky Balboa — she’s not a quitter.

Recalling a famous scene on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art from the 1976 Oscar-winning film "Rocky," Clinton said that ending her presidential campaign now would be as if "Rocky Balboa had gotten halfway up those art museum steps and said, 'Well, I guess that's about far enough.'"

“Let me tell you something, when it comes to finishing a fight, Rocky and I have a lot in common. I never quit. I never give up. And neither do the American people,” Clinton said in excerpts of prepared remarks to be given Tuesday to a meeting of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO.

What do you think?

Answer #1

thought that you would like that jimahl. lol and butterflydreamsdragonflywings I understand what you are saying but to rend your party shows not only a lack of consideration for the democrats but also a lack of consideration for the country. I also understand that the clinton ego is as wide and deep as the grand canyon and because of that, she will not quit.

Answer #2

Rocky was able to recall events accurately.

Answer #3

Answer #4

She is a lot like Rocky.

1 - She is as ugly as it gets 2 - She has been beaten up by everyone she meets 3 - She is surrounded by idiots

Answer #5

answering my own question - I guess her speechwriters didn’t know that rocky LOST the fight! lol.

Answer #6

Clinton has nothing on Rocky, rocky beat Apollo Creed, He lasted 15 rounds with Apollo in the first film, beat him in the 2nd, lost to Clubber Lang in the 3rd movie, knocked him out in the rematch, He beat Ivan Drago and Tommy Gunn and had a split decision with Mason Dixon, Clinton got nothin on Balboa

Answer #7

She absolutely is starting to hurt the party, and the numbers don’t lie. She has already lost.

The longer McCain gets to campaign basically unchallenged, the less chance the dems have to win in Nov.

Answer #8

I believe she is a fighter. She doesn’t give up quickly. In life that is how it is supposed to be. You don’t just give up. You give it your all. She hasn’t lost yet. I think it is good for this country to see a candidate that doesn’t just give up. It shows commitment. Dispite what jimahl thinks about it looking like she doesn’t care. I believe it shows her stregnth and commitment to her causes. I don’t believe it is hurting the party at all. They began that all on their own with the Florida/Michigan votes. If your in the race be prepared to run the distance. Win or lose you finished the race.

Answer #9

LOL, that is pretty funny amoeba.

I think she is in denial. I feel bad for her. She worked really hard for this, and for a long time it seemed like it was going to go her way. And now she has lost, and she can’t accept it. I do think she had a too much of a sense of entittlement, and that is why some people got turned off to her. Now it is making her look like she doesn’t care about the party, and is taking a win-at-all-cost approach that is hurting the dem chances in Nov.

I just wish she would face it, and let Obama start the general election against McCain.
