Why the irs office representative couldnt answerme a simple question?

Well i went to the irs office and waited two hours to see a representative to ask him something about if a u.s citizen has to pay double taxes if he lives and works in another country and he told me that is not allowed to answer these kind of questions i was like really and he gave me a phone number to call and a website to check, but i find it very unreliable if a goverment office representative cannot answer a simple question in my face. What do you think? Tell me please thank you.

Answer #1

I would call the number they gave you

Answer #2

Why is it so hard for people to understand that there is no law that obligates you to pay taxes on your earned income?? Why else do you think that he/she couldn’t answer your question? Why else do you see people leaving their position as an IRS Agent? How about you contact a lawyer who handles those cases and ask him/her instead.

Answer #3

No, it’s totally ok. You can ask whatever you want. I was just saying that people are so drawn into this big lie that they can’t see past it. I hope you get your answer from a legal point and let us know how it went.
