Why does my iPod make my voice sound different?

My iPod makes my voice sound bad whenever I record a video of me singing. But my phone and my friends phone don’t.

Answer #1

Perhaps the mic quality isn’t as great on your iPod as your phone.

Answer #2

Voices always sound different in microphones, it transmits your voice different.

Answer #3

Actually it is not your iPod/other recorder that makes your voice sound different. Because you hear the echo of your voice in your sinuses your voice sounds different to you than to everyone else, including any recorder. If you cup your hands around the front of your ears and talk you can hear what you actually sound like. Most people make this mistake, I only know this because I am a singer and it is very useful to know what you sound like.
