Increase temp folder memory

How do you increase temp folder memory?

Answer #1

This is sort of an odd question. I delete my temp folder constantly as well as my temporary internet folder. I do this to prevent malicious software from coming about from surfing as well as speeding up system performance. The temp folder is your computer’s waiting room where software waits its turn to be used or for a preset trigger for the program to run. The size of this folder really is not an issue as it should be trimmed down periodically. You can locate this folder from “documents and settings/(computer ‘s main profile)/local settings/temp” (if you do not see “local settings” then you need to toggle the folder options to not hide hidden file types which can be done from the “tools” tab in the same window). Delete all files in both of the Temp and Temporary internet files often for better performance.

If this is a Windows Virtual Memory” problem you are trying to solve then you should increase your Page File memory. This is a bit of your hard drive that Windows uses like RAM. To increase this you need to go to your Control Panel-then click the “System” icon- choose the “Advanced” tab- Under the Performance heading click “Settings”- Click the Advanced tab- Then choose the button for adjusting the Page File memory allocation.

Hope this helps.
