I dont know really what to tell you but if you are 18 or older it could be really hard on your relationship. seeing how some foster homes where she’d probably go if you called protective services until she is 18. Some of these are really bad and the kids aren’t treated the best.Im trying to find a way out im turning 17 and both of my paretns are incarserated pretty much till I turn 18.wish I could be more help for you.

Answer #6

just out of curiosity, is she the daughter of an independent fundamental baptist. My daughter has a friend who is and he is not allowed to associate with “worldly” people. He is completely isolated and disciplined with belts and boards when his parents think “his heart is not right with God”. Sad and unbiblical. He wants out so bad, but there are no laws protecting him and he will not call social services for fear of the consequences.

Answer #8

Report the abuse:

Legally, you must be the ‘age of majority’ for your state (usually 18) or become emancipated:

Emancipation refers to the point at which a child is free from parental control.

Emancipation may be the result of a voluntary agreement between the parents and child, or it may be implied from their acts and ongoing conduct. For example, a child who leaves her parents’ home and becomes ENTIRELY SELF-SUPPORTING without their objection is considered emancipated, while a child who goes to stay with a friend or relative and gets a part-time job is not. Emancipation may also occur when a minor child marries or enters the military.

In order to become emancipated you must be able to answer the above questions and be self supporting which means:

  • Have a job
  • Live in home or apartment
  • pay bills

Contact the Court office or a Professional Attorney in your immediate area for further assistance.

I wish you the best !!
