What impact did the Church have on everyday life during the European Middle Ages?

Okay, so I’m working on this really important project (500 points) and I’m supposed to have 2 paragraphs about the church’s impact, but I can’t find anything on google. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you guys!

After the fall of the Roman Empire, tragety and chaos was everyday life. There was no longer any security or stabability without a government (since the gov. had collapsed) and so many people turned to the Church for stabablity and security. The Church had in a way had become the new gove, and quickly rose to power. Watch the “Dark Ages” on either Historychannel.com or youtube; it should explain everything in further detail. Best of Luck:)
