what is IGE interms of allergies?

so i took an allergy blood test and they said they will check my IGE level if its high than they do some testing?

IgE = Immunoglobulin E. This is an antibody whose direct purpose is to fight off parasitic diseases, but in some people has caused an increased sensitivity to allergens which manifests in the common allergic reaction.

When your IgE levels are increased, this is what causes you to experience allergies.
