Answer #1

Are you going to be living in a dorm? ‘Cause I’m pretty sure they don’t allow pets.

Answer #2

i dont know yet, but i think im gonna rent an apartment with my friends

Answer #3

If you’re going to be living in an apartment on your own, I’d say sure. If you’re living with others, though, it probably wouldn’t be the best idea because a lot of people have allergies. If you do want to bring a dog, however, you’re going to have to rent an apartment from someone who actually allows pets. In most cases landlords prefer no pets because of the smell and damage some do, so that would be a good thing to check on first. If you’re going for a dorm, I’m pretty sure you’re not allowed any pets there.

So..

1.) Check to see if you’re allowed pets. 2.) If you’ve living with others, check if they’re okay with it. 3.) Consider how much time you’ll have for your pet. You may only be in class a few hours a day, but you do have to walk your dog a few times a day to get in its’ exercise and to keep it from using the house as a restroom.

Answer #7

As everyone has pointed out already, you can’t have pets in a dorm. But if you are going to be in an apartment WHERE THEY ALLOW PETS it should be fine. Remember though that you MUST walk the dog at least 4 times a week (absolute LEAST, it should be 6 times a week or everyday). You must stimulate the dog or it is just mental torture, play with it, walk it etc. Get an apartment with a backyard with grass because otherwise it can’t pee/poop and I can’t imagine you running home in your lunch breaks to take the dog for a wee down the road lol. If I were you I’d leave it at home, you’ll be studying and any spare time you have you’ll want to go out with friends, not be walking your dog.

Answer #8

No, it will interfere with your studies, it might not be allowed in the dorm and plus he won’t have your full attention, try to leave it with your parents or other family (:

Answer #9

like all the above answers it all depends…you could always get an easy pet though like a hampster or fish :)

Answer #10

I sincerely doubt it. I have a cat and I have to make sacrifices. I can’t just go on vacation. I have to be back within certain hours. I can’t just decide not to go home for the night. And that’s a cat. A dog has to be walked EVERY DAY several times a day. They need to go to the bathroom. They need exercise and attention. It isn’t about being responsible. When you’ve got a crazy schedule that college demands it is difficult to care for a pet (and btw i was never social, so it’s not like i was out partying every night). Why not go to school for a year and then if you decide you can do it, then take the dog.

If you can make money off it…
