I want to go to the hair dresses and get it dyed blonde, but worried it wont turn out the what I hoped. I dyed my hair chocolate brown 4 months ago. wil this affect it and what shuld I do?

If you put pigment into your hair, it will be harder to strip out on your own. Your roots will lift at a different level than the hair that has color deposited onto it which if done improperly will leave you with much lighter hair near the scalp that will just look darker and darker as it goes towards the ends.

If you get your hair done professionally, they should be able to minimize this effect with proper application and volume levels on the lightener that you choose. Realize that it will probably all just have to get lifted with bleach and then toned if you want it to be absolutely platinum, or the easier route is to just put a lot of blonde highlights in to avoid having bleach on all of your hair. It will leave it feeling/looking more healthy in the end.

If you’re not looking to go “mega blonde” from a “dark chocolate” brown, there will be less intensity to the processing obviously.

The fact that your hair is curly shouldn’t make a huge difference unless it’s particularly coarse or if you’ve had it permed in which case, don’t touch it with bleach.
