How can I emancipate myself?

HOW DO I EMANCIPATE MYSELF WITHOUT HAVING A NEGATIVE EFFECT?

Answer #1

I would think that would be very hurtful to ALL involved - Hope you could come up with a better plan..I wish you the best !!

Answer #2

The only way that you can emancipate yourself is if someone older than you can and has to have a good reason on why you want to be amancipated.

Answer #3

Well if it is something that you want that bad… then just write down a list of the pros and cons of getting emancipated. Think of what you would have to pay for, how much you would earn, and if you would be responsible when it comes to money. Landlords look at emancipated teens as people they are going to have to be on their guard with, which is resonable considering that emancipation is a last resort in a family. They won’t think twice about evicting you for playing music too loud, or being late on rent on a monthly basis. If at this point, emancipation is something you wish to go through with, then confront your parents peacefully and talk it out without screaming or arguing and explain the reasons you have for wanting emancipation. If they say no but you feel that you have a strong argument and can prove it to a judge, then you do not need youe parents consent to file for emancipation in a juvenille court. Even if your parents are fighting your choice and you convince a judge it would benefit you, then you will be awarded emancipation.

Answer #4

I am looking into emancipation for completely different reasons. I am 21 years old and just met my biological father for the first time ever. I do not have enough money for college and I live in Tx, my mom and step father in Ny. They cannot afford it either, not to mention schools are about to give up on me, again, b/c it takes so long for me to go back and forth to fill out their information. I’m living in Tx, without my parents, and yet I still need their financial information for school.
