from the main menu, go to “settings”. there should be something that says “volume limit”. go there and use the wheel to adjust the master volume of your iPod.

keep in mind that not all of your MP3 files have the same volume. some songs are louder or softer even with the adjustment to the master volume. for instance, when i adjusted the master volume to all the way, one song would be fine and when i clicked to the next song it nearly blew my ears.

also, in the settings you have an EQ which stands for “equilizer”. its a handy little option that allows you to achieve optimum sound quality depending on the genre of music you’re listening to (i.e. rock, pop, piano, etc…)
