I need to just be happy with myself!

Okay, I’m not happy with anything of me. I want to change EVERYTHING. Hair, eye colour, teeth, arms, legs, WEIGHT, general looks, the way I walk & talk, shoe size, personality, handwriting, hands, intelligence, confidence. Every body part I could name a problem with. Serously, name a body part and I can tell you a valid reason why I hate it. How can I just LIKE myself? And don’t say ANYTHING about God! I’m an atheist, thanks. But yeah.. =[ I just want some help please. Thanks.. ^__^

I don’t really think God has anything to do with your self esteem and how you view yourself, so no worries there. That wont enter my answer.

Bottom line, you are you. You cannot change things such as your shoe size, your handwriting… etc.

You need to find a silver lining in things. There are things I’d love to change about myself, but at the end of the day… its not going to happen. I can dye my hair, wax my eyebrows, etc etc but I’m still me.

I think you need to look within and realize that you are intelligent, you have a lot to offer - and if you have to, sit down and write out a list of all the things you have to offer people…

Maybe you’re a great friend, maybe you’re an artist… write them all down. Whenever you catch yourself thinking negatively, replace it with a positive thought. Instead of, “God I’m fat” try… “Real women have curves” or “Damn I look good today”.

Part of our self esteem comes from what we tell ourselves. If we are constantly telling ourselves we are ugly, we will soon believe it. If you spend that time instead thinking about what a great person you are, how smart you are - you’ll adapt to that thought process.

Easier said than done - but. It takes 21 days to make or break a habit. For the next 21 days, work on viewing yourself in a positive light and pointing out all your great qualities to yourself.

Well I have to say you are taking the first step of liking who you are by asking how. You should be proud about that. Spend a week or even a couple of days writing about things you do like about yourself. If you keep focusing on things you dont like you will see that you find ways to keep adding to that list. so write the things you do like, changing the exterior does nothing once you start changing the inner things start coming together. You will be surprised how many great things you are, you just have to put them on paper to realize them

I’m also an atheist, so I’m not going to harp about God, but I will say this:

You have to learn to be happy with who you are. There isn’t as much wrong with you as you think, you only suffer from a lack of confidence.

Start with one thing at a time If you don’t like your hair - try a new style, then perhaps some new makeup, new clothes… In the end, it isn’t really necessary to change yourself, you only need to refresh your opinion of yourself
