I need help & the cops wont help

A week ago I let this guy barrow my car, and he never came back with it. Somebody saw it someplace and told me where it was. I went over with the extra key and drove it home. when I got up the next day it was gone again. the cops wont help cause I originally handed him the keys. so how can I track him down. He lives from couch to couch. all I know is his first name and his cellphone number.

Answer #1

The more you complain the more they should listen. So keep trying. They should be doing something about it since he has drove off with your car.

Answer #2

I think that everyone cant trust aneyone ESPECULY when you hardely know them

Answer #3

Report your car stolen. It doesnt matter whether he borrowed it the first time or not. He took it without your permission the second time.

Answer #4

find this guy- have the cops come with you- GET THE KEYS BACK. you loaned the car to him- true, but not forever- the cops should help with this. if not- I would get the biggest meanest dude you know and have HIM explain it to this guy- and get your keys back. another solution is to get one of those “steering wheel locks”- lock the wheel and it won’t matter if he has a key or not- he won’t be able to drive the car away- but he will be able to DAMAGE it if he so chooses. ATTEMPT TO GET YOUR KEYS BACK.

Answer #5

I would take the car right to the dealer and trade it in. or get your ingnition switch changed

Answer #6

Keep fighting it with the cops. After you complain and ‘try’ to d osomething about it so much, their going to do something about it.

Guess this was a lesson learned for you.

Answer #7

Not much you can do.

This is just another case of misguided trust.
