Dear fade_out, There are some great medications for GERD. Seek out your doctor for some information on these. You need to find the foods that work for you. Anything without caffeine, carbonation is a must. Some cannot eat spicy foods others can. You need to see what works in your case. Finding food without dairy is easy by reading labels and seeking out health food stores. Now some of the bigger department stores have specialty items in their food dept. Living with Gerd can be easy if you do your homework. Sue…good luck

Having had GERD, I know the pain it causes. When I have a flare up it feels like I want to throw up fire. My guts are in knots. The pharamcist suggested an over the counter antacid to control the acid. Are you lactose intollerant? If not try drinking goats milk. The properties in it are amazingly different from cows. And, it does not have the drugs that cow milk does. A nutritionist should be able to help you form a diet that is unique to your body and its chemistry as well.
