I need a thoughtful response to this...please..

I was in the Air Force for 4 years, got out, to finish school and move back near family…

So for 3 years I did that, was in Syracuse, NY. I had times I wish I was back West, but once I realized how nice it was to have family nearby, I settled right in.

Than last summer I took a job I knew I’d hate down in Virginia.. sure enough within 3 months I got outta there, moved home to finish up last year of school in nick of time..

So for a year I was back in Syracuse, enjoying life, dating a girl long distance in Utah who I intended to move in with and start a new job 3 months ago..I got out there and decided abruptly I couldn’t move in with her, and I turned down a job in my field..

So I ended up taking a job in Florida in similar field from the job I had in Virginia. Needless to say I’m hating life now. It’s like a replay of everything. I’m isolated, just me and my dog, no friends, no family, no girlfriend. I’ve honestly pondered what some people must think when there ready to pull the plug.. I feel that down about things..

So regardless of debt implications or not having money saved.. would any of you just say screw it, and quit/leave?

I need an honest perspective.. I’m 28, feel like lifes too short to waste another year in a place I don’t want to be..

Answer #1

I wouldn’t recommend just quit and leave, but maybe search the area you want to move to, send out some resumes ,set up some interviews and make sure you give a 2 week notice at your current job so you can get a good reference from your current employer..then leave and try again somewhere else…you are still young…live life… be happy…try new things…before it’s to late…wish you luck

Answer #2

depends on what type of support you can expect if you were to pack your bags and just go home. you’re 28 now and your parents may have different thoughts about you moving back home at this point than they did in the past.

but life IS too short to be miserable all the time, but part of growing up is accepting the consequences of your actions and doing the right thing. the right thing would be job hunting and sending out your resume while you stay where you are and sock away as much $$ as possible

Answer #3

Well, Im only 17, but my opinion is, stick it out a little longer to save up money from your job& you are right, life is too short. I only wish the best for people,& for you too. Once you save up a little, move back to home, you need to bond with someone to survive:)Its hard being on your own, and dont worry, a girl will come along someday& she may feel the same way. Im not sure if this message helps at all, but if you feel sad, go talk to a neighbor, or facebook someone you know:) Good luck!!!
