What if I like a guy but our families are enemies?

Something like that happened to me, my best friends older brother who was totally off limits because some people (parents) thought he was a little unstable. But I loved him and I saw what no one else did in him. My parents thought I was a pyscho and his parents were afraid that he would rape me. One day when I was over their house we came to me and told me that he loved me and wanted me more then anything in the world so we sat down and talked about the consequences of the relationship. We decided to keep it quiet for a while then both talk to our parents seperately about the way we felt toward eachother. I said, “ Mom you have to stop telling me who not to love, I love him and I don’t care how you feel about it. Your opinion will not change my feelings at all. I hope you understand that we will be dating in the near future.” She looked at me and told me I respect your decision. So I suggest handling it like a mature adult and talking about it camly with your parents. It obviously worked for us we’re still together till this day ; ) best of luck xoxo Marissa
