I Love Ballet BUT-

I really love ballet.But my parents hate it.They won’t let me take classes and I want to learn it online.But that way is so inefficient!Isnt there any way I can learn ballet?On top of that,I need ballet flats to practice in.I can’t buy them without my parents finding out.Is it possible to make them myself?

       I know you'll say talk to your mom and dad.But they don't listen.Its like hitting your head against a stone wall.I love them and all,but I reaalllyyy want to learn ballet!Any suggestions?:)Thanx.
    Also,I wasnt sure in which category I should put this question...as it concerns my parents not lettting me take ballet,I put it in Parents and Family.Please help!

Wow, I am sorry to hear that. I understand what his concern is but a sheltered life isn’t much of a life at all. You seem to have a genuine passion for dance, sorry normally I am pretty good with arguments but this is out of my league. I do have an idea though, ask your parents if you can take yoga. Yoga will prepare you for dance lessons in the future, probably the best class you can take that is related to ballet without actually taking a class that you would make a public appearance for.

Ballet flats are just flexable shoes right? I would imagine you could buy them at target or walmart. Ballet is beautiful its hard to imagine your parents would be against that idea. I would think they probably don’t know that much about it. Ballet isn’t what it used to be, it has become modernized. Do you know what it is about ballet that they don’t like?

My dad doesnt want me dancing infront of strangers–but I dont want to dance before an audience!I just want to learn it because I love ballet!Ah well…

what I did was leav ballet pictures every where, and leav one ballet song playing in my room, 24/7. it drove them crazy, and now I do 14 classes a week!
