I know this is silly but..

okay so my ex and I are really good friends. regardless of what he did (cheated on me), hes just one of those people I cant see me living without..I’ve tried to stay away from him but he came back. we never went back to going out etc. but now we are extremely close. I talk to him every day and he has told me he doesnt want to let me go..I admit it was really difficult to get over him and I know every time some other girl comes around I will always wonder what she has that I dont. and he has been trying to set me up with some of his friends but it hasnt worked. and we have gotten to the point where we both can be excruciating honest with each other..and I always seem to get mixed signals from him. but then today he told me that “things are so much better as best friends with you” etc. am I missing something?I mean one minute he says hes dedicated to me and the next..well I don’t know actually what this means.
