I just want him back

I had the most wonderful boyfriend and then I did something so horrible that he broke up with me. It has been only a week but it feels like an eternity. I spoke to him th other night and he told he wants me in his life but not for a relationship. Intitially he said we would never speak again but I started sending him emails about how sorry I was. Then boom, he calls me we were talking and it was fine until I brought getting back together again. He gave me three raesons why he thinks we cant be together. I respect his decision but three years is a lot to throw away. Why would he say he wants me in his life and then all of sudden start ignoring me again?

he is hurt he has lots going on in his head right now. give him time

well you say its only been a week, that itself could possibly be the answer to your question. if you were the one in the wrong and you know that, youve got to give him time. yes three years is along time to just throw out with the trash and he too knows this and that would be his reason for wanting to keep you in his life. but because of you doing what ever it was to break his heart and it only being a week, he has his defense mode on. its going to take time for him to be able to forgive you and he will have to learn all over again to put his trust in you. the only thing there is for you to do besides express how sorry you are, is to give him time and some space. when hes ready to move ahead with the friendship the two of you have, thats when you try your damndest to prove you will never betray his trust again. if what yall had was great time and trust will bring you back together, its just going to take time for his broken heart to mend. you just have to build the trust back.
