I've known this girl for about the entire school year. She's eaten lunch at my table for the entire semester. She just broke up with her boyfriend, less than a week ago. It's been developing for a while, but I finally realized that I like her. Well I got this urge to be blunt and tell her. (You don't know me, but me being blunt with a girl isn't something likely to happen. I'm kinda of one of those guys that plans every contingency and doesn't like the way things play out in my head.) Anyway, I was walking her to her bus, and I asked her if I could have her number, I'd lost it from the time she'd given it to me before. She told me to get it from a mutual friend of ours. Then we get near her bus, and I told her I had to tell her something, and I didn't really know why I had to. She was kinda shocked I think, and I told her that I knew she just ended her serious relationship, and that I didn't know if she felt that way about me. She said that she didn't know, and it would take a while to get over her ex. Then she told me I was an amazing guy, and to get her number and call her sometime. Well today I hung out with her during lunch. It wasn't that awkward, in fact I was the only one that felt awkward it seemed, that's just me freaking myself out I think. Well awhile back she had to delete her myspace because of her boyfriend, now ex. She had broken up with him for a time, and during that time, my date to prom got a boyfriend. So our mutual friend tried to get her to go to prom with me. He was pressuring her pretty hard, and I just tried to say it was no big deal. Later that night on myspace, I sent her a message saying to ignore him, it was her decision, and not to worry about it. Well her ex logs on and sends me a message threatening me and my friend. So she deleted her myspace (here comes the point to my little anecdote). I asked her yesterday if she had gotten a new myspace, and she said no but she needed to. That night she made a myspace. Today I friend requested her, and messaged her. She accepeted, and read the message, but didn't reply. Now here's my need for advice. Most of the time when girls say your an amazing guy, they mean your a nice guy but no. But she told me to call her sometime, so I'm not sure aobut that. Also I'm curious as to why she didn't message me back, unless she doesn't want to talk to me because it's awkward, but in that case why does she want me to call her. I honestly don't know if she's considering. Here's the main piece of advice I need: Hypothetically, let's say it's in the air. She doesn't like me, but she doens't dislike me. 50/50. How can I make her get over her boyfriend, and get to start liking me without coming on too strong, I mean I bore myself but overall I wouldn't say I've done too bad. And also please keep in mind we have a total of one lunch period left before the end of school, so whatever it is has to involve outside communication and interaction. I can't rely on school based interaction.

Ell: Well, I'd say that she really just needs some time to get over her ex. If anything, I would say send her a myspace message just asking her if she would be honest with you and keep you informed on her emotions. Tell her that your liking her isn't going to go away, but that you will back off a little and give her some time to recuperate from ex-guy. Tell her that whenever she feels like she's good with everything, to just feel allright talking to you. Then if you're around her for this next llunch period don't be awkward. If she sees that you are awkward around her the only thing you could possibly be is a rebound. You need to appear a if you could support her after a relationship by seeming confident (not arrogant) while caring and secure. Being secure is the most improtant thing. More than likely she is hurting and insecure and she needs someone who is the opposite. Good luck, funmail if youve got questions.
Yea, haha, I read all of it. Uh...you could say that she deserves way better than her ex. Actually, I think my situation is somewhat similar... Except no one in their right mind is going to threaten me that I know, and myspace isn't a factor either. I simply can't tell if she likes me or not, but I know she doesn't dislike me. Anyway, ask her if you guys can hang out sometime. Trust me, it won't be coming on too strong at all, especially if you stress that if she doesn't trust you, try letting you prove you are trustworthy. When I mean hang out, I mean at her house/your house. The girl I was talking about, I was over her house until like 2 in the morning lol. Good luck.
