When can I get pregnant after IUD removal?

how long after I get my I.u.d taken out , can I get pregnant?

Answer #1

I had my IUD removed in April ‘09 got pregnant May ‘09 and miscarried July ‘09. I had another IUD placed in Aug. ‘09. I am now ready to get pregnant again, but am doing some SERIOUS planning with my dr. to prevent this from happening again. All of your answers have helped me to know what to do “next time” Thanks!

I had to have my surgically removed about a year ago and still no baby. I guess we have to do what the other women say and be patient. I thought that because I had to have my removed in that manner it would prevent me from having children again but my doctors assured me that when the time was right I would get pregnant with no problem. Best of luck to you

It is possible to get pregnant immediately. In fact, since sperm can live for five days in the v*gina, it is possible for a woman to get pregnant after the IUD is removed due to intercourse she had before it was removed!

If you have a hormonal IUD, it could take a while for your period and fertility to come back to normal.

So if you want to get pregnant, you can start trying right away. If you do not want to get pregnant, you will need to use another form of birth control right away.

Typically you can start trying after your iud is removed .. You can try to wait if you would like , getting pregnant before your period is regulated may be hard for doctors to pinpoint when exactly you got pregnant.. but rest assure it can happen…stressing out over getting pregnant can make it harder. so remember that making the baby should be fun not work .. sexual activities should happen every other day give your partner a chance for his sperm to build up, try elevation after sexual intercourse prop yourself up on a pillow or extend your legs in the air and let gravity do its job , this increases your chances the sperm will meet your egg.. do not be discouraged if it doesnt happen right away , just let loose and keep trying .. try tracking your ovulation , find out the day your going to begin ovulating and the day you will stop. start your prenatal vitamins , and folic acid .. this helps boost your fertility , also giving you a better chance .

hope I helped

My doctor said you should wait four week after you take out the IUD. If you get pregnany right you take out the IUD you could have a miscarriage.
