I hate my body, I don't mind my weight, but dislike my shape

I’m 15, 5,5 and weigh 130lbs. I don’t mind my actual weight, but I HATE my shape! I don’t want to loose weight, just alter my shape. You see, from the front I look pretty normal, but when you see me from the back, I have broad shoulders, no shape in my waist, a wide back and a small backside and NO hips! I feel terrible about myself, I hate leaving my house ( Yes, it’s THAT bad). If you have anything that will help my get some definition and trim my waist, get bigger hips and a bigger backside, make my back littler and do something about my man shoulders, I’d LOVE to hear it. PLEEZ, I’m desperate! I also have one more question, do mirrors really make you look fatter or different in anyway, not just your body, but your face to? Also, to see what I look like from a backview, I’ve been standing with my back to a mirror and holding a mirror up in front of me and looking at my backview through the mirror I’m holding. Is that accurate, and could it be making me look bigger? PLEEZ I”M DESPERATE!

I have exactly the same problem. As soon as I think I am getting over it someone will make a comment and I lose all my confidence again. I would love to have a womanly curvy figure. I would love to be a pear shape but I just don’t think it is possible. If it is someone please tell me! My shoulders look small from the front but then from the back my shoulders (or maybe just my back) looks very wide, My boobs are a C so pretty average…no cleavage as they are so far apart on my big wide frame! I have finally got a waist after months of trying - healthy eating and running. But my hips are tiny and my bum is shrinking fast. What can I do to make the best of my figure? I hate feeling so un feminine and I hate it even more that other people are noticing.

dont worry about what ya look like cause if ur looking to imprss people by wut u look like then ur not showing them the real you,ur beautiful inside and out its weather the other persons eyes can see true beauty or if there blind, but if ur really like not liking your shape, then id advice you to take it one step at a time such as proper exercises and eating healthy

i know what it feels like to be ugly because i have had a complx about it. all you need to do is focus on an area and work on it. for instance your bum, do more leg excercises etc…

Yes mirrors can defidently alter your shape. It also depends on what kind of an angle your mirror is on. When I look into a mirror that is angled up, I look very bottom heavy, but when I look into that same mirror angles down, I look terrific. My advice, which worked for me, was kickboxing. It is a GREAT way to get into shape, feel good about yourself, and learn some awsome self-defense moves. It really is a great workout, my body got into the perfect shap after 2 months. ( I trained for one hour, twice a week ) It really is a good ego booster too. :) God speed, and remember, even though you dont think so, you really are gorgeous.

Oh dear! We all go through these insecurities don’t we? -and it doesn’t really help when the predictable cliches always follow i.e. “It’s what you’re like on the inside that counts”.

On a point by point basis though, I would say:

a) Don’t worry too much about the broad back, shoulders and little bum- instead do a little light weight- training to keep the back and shoulders areas stunningly well toned and defined, then walk tall! After all, this ‘athletic’ frame never did Ursula Andress or Bo Derek any harm (-and many other ‘sex goddesses’ for that matter…)

b) If you are still worried about your small butt, weight training can target this area to create a more rounded silhouette. Skiing also develops bum muscles. Go to your library or speak to your nearest gym instructor for details of helpful exercises.

c) Hula hooping is a great and fun way to trim a waist. It’s probably not purely coincidence that when the craze was at it’s peak in the 50’s, women’s waists were trimmer than ever. I would also say to keep noshing bran flakes and fibre foods such as jacket potatoes, as this will keep the bowels regular -N.B. because if you are a little constipated this WILL unfortunately bulk out the waistline, Also drink loads of water as it helps you digest your food far more easily and flushes through the surplus calories. Live yoghurt will also reduce any bloating around the middle. Avoid eating supermarket biscuits as I believe they often contain a particular fat which is prone to settle on the waistline.

You would probably only form a constructive opinion of your body by seeing a photograph of yourself alongside other girls of your own age, so don’t be too hard on yourself. Also, mirrors vary enormously. Remember, you are only 15 and your body is developing in different places at different rates. Your butt and hips may not yet have burst forth in all their womanly glory!

Finally are you quite sure you are dressing to flatter your figure type? Start using optical illusions with appropriately striped or patterned fabrics etc which will draw attention away from the bits your self conscious about.

Then just enjoy your amazon body! A fit frame will always be considered attractive so go for it -and good luck!

I too have this problem, when I look in the mirror I have the same results, normal from the front, broader from the back. It really does suck! Especially when people stare or make whispered comments. Sometimes I feel like everyone is staring at me, I hate it! But I try to think positive, cause I’m pretty sure there’s nothing you can really do about it…Besides wearing outfits that draw more attention to other parts of your body, or exercising. This helped me a little. And also if and when people make comments about you or stare at you in a negative way, just ignore them, they’re only doing that because they’re jealous or having similar problems…That’s something else I’ve learned. It helped me a little, I hope it can do the same for you in a way to make you feel better about yourself…Oh, and don’t worry a lot of females have these sorts of problems, and we all have to deal with them somehow, sooner or later.
