2 months and 3 weeks (almost 3 months) I got my period yesterday morning everyone! and I'm traveling next week :( my period usually stays for 2 weeks, I don't know what to do! 6 hours in the airplane!!! I usually change my pad every 1-2 hours, it's because if I don't, my underwear gets dirty, and I feel dirty!! I handle sitting 6 hours without changing my pad!!! and I hate the toilets on the airplane!! what should I do?!!
a) you shouldn't need to change your pad every two hours, your flow must be sooo heavy (and must cost a fortune!) b) two weeks is far too long for a period (christ your bleeding for 26 weeks a year!)
do you have any other symptoms? like excessive abdominal / back pain etc? is the blood normal, or clotted? dark / light? are you aneamic?
as for the plane prob, you need to grit your teeth and use the loo. personally, if you are needing to change your pad every two hours, your 'flow' must be too heavy for tampons..
I would see the doc first...how long ago did your periods starts? and are they completly established now?
WHOA!!! two weeks is way too long for a period to last!! mine only last up to 5-7 days!! - you should really tell your family doctor about this!! as for the airplane thing... you really gotta think which one is better... sitting on the airplane and feeling icky for 6 hours... or at least changing your pad twice... for a miniute in the washroom which you don't like? :P
Agreed with Dawn -- that is something you will want to see a doctor about ASAP. That is definitely not how periods are supposed to behave.
maybe consider using a tampon? 2 weeks isn't normal for a period to stay. have you seen a doctor for that?
