Flush—Oooohh sorry, No really, in the past my friends have dropped their cell ph. I H20 ,,, take it to the place you bought it, a warranty can replace some of them, at no cost or it may be able to be repaired. Really, I have seen it done on waterlogged phones before, after they dry out it may be good as new? EnigmaMystery

DONT try to turn it on! You could short circuit it.

Take the back off and the battery out. Get a big bowl of dry rice from the kitchen and stick all the pieces of your phone in there and let it sit overnight. The rice will absorb any moisture in your phone. In the morning put it back together and hopefully everything will be in good working order.

The rice idea is good that should work, my friend did that when he dropping his phone in a pond. If not, open up your phone (CAREFULLY!!!). Then allow every individual piece to dry. WHen you put it back together it should work. I left mine in my pocket in the washing machine, worked for me. If it is still not working, I’d suggest taking it to a mobile phone repair shop, as the repairs for a wet phone will cost far less than the phone itself.

Answer #4

Good advice but I’ll add a bit more. If your phone is easy to disassemble take apart as far as possible. If your phone is not easily taken apart than remove the back, sim card, memory card, and so on to give moisture as many places to escape as possible.

If the water that your phone fell into is salty (ocean water or toilet after you urinated) than you should actually rinse your phone with distilled water before drying it out. The additional distilled water is safer than the salty water drying in your phone.

If you are a student you can ask if you can use a vacuum chamber to dry out your phone. A high vacuum should do the job quickly. You can try increasing evaporation by using the hand attachment of your vacuum cleaner near any openings but the danger here is static electricity frying your phone.

Rice is a pretty good descant but there are better ones though they can be hard to locate on short notice. I’d give it a couple of days before trying to power it on rather than overnight.

last time I got my phone soaked I just dropped it in a bag of rice, within a few hrs it was good as new, it has never failed me yet, for any electronics.
