I don't like my friends!

This might make me sound rude but I have to get it off my chest, my friends have been trying to make plans with me whether it be coffee, a movie or whatever. Thanks to college I have been able to be very busy. I really don’t want to come off as rude but I don’t really want to have contact with them anymore, they aren’t the classiest bunch and I think we differ in many ways. When we meet up I just feel so annoyed in their presence, most of the time I question why I even considered meeting up with them. Some people have just told me to avoid them, but when I do they say I’m distant, and I say I’m busy (which in many ways I am) but I just don’t feel the “joy” of hanging out with them anymore. Any ideas on what I can do to not come off as rude?

tell them that you have grown apart and that maybe you all could still be friends but just not as close ( that is what my friends did but whatevs!)

They know you’re distant and like to be socially exempt from a lot of things. They’re just trying to break you out of your shell.

You can talk to them without being rude by using a soft tone and saying something like “Hey, I know you want me hang out with you and such, but I really don’t want to go out. Is it possible that you can quit asking me to go with because I’m just going to say no ever time, right?” You could also use another line like “I’d rather concentrate on my studies” or some such.

It isn’t to break me out of my shell because for 1 im really not shy and 2 I like to see my other friends and my boyfriend all the time. I just really want to find soemthing I can say to ‘these’ girls without coming off as rude. I guess I’ll keep using the original line until the relationship wtih them dies down! Thanks for your feedback anyway.
