I disagree with my teacher.

My marketing yourself teacher is a real pain!

He has this unreasonable rule “If one person gets in trouble you ALL do”

Trouble= A 5 page report on _

EVERYDAY I have to write a report because of someone else!

So my friend Danae` got tired of it & started telling the teacher off I was like “hey its not worth it” It took everything I had not to start yelling at him because he started calling ME immature but I wasnt even saying ANYTHING. So that night I refused to do my homework & when he asked for it I simply said “I dont have it” He said “Get yo momma on tha phone”. So I did & my mom said she wasnt worried about it because I did nothing wrong. So that night I ended up doing the homework & turning it in late. He took it & said that was very mature of me. So later on I asked one of the other teachers who teaches the same subject if I could be in his class instead he said yes. So I asked my other teacher he said NO I was like WHY??Im trying to do the right thing & save myself an arguement. He’s really ticking me off but im keeping my cool…What should I do?

That sucks. Discuss it with your principal, this guy’s being a jerq. Yes, I spelled “jerk” with a “q”. That’s how I spell it when I think of something as extreme.

Answer #2

It’s the form of discipline this teacher has chosen for his classroom - trying to keep it a stable learning environment - if not appropriate, report.

Answer #3

Well he cant stop you from moving classes can he? Its your choice, and the choice of whoever is in charge of the classes. so I say move classes and tell him hes rediculous lol

Well, for starters, you need to decide if this is a class that you really need or is it something that you can do without. Unless, of course, the class is a required class - then you may be hooped. If it is a class that you can withdraw from and it is not a required class, withdrawing may be a good option. It can be misery to suffer in through punishment caused by only one student. Most teachers that I have dealt with don’t use that type of classroom managment, as it is usually ineffective. It depends on peer pressure to bring the individual who caused the punishment into line. I’ve been both a highschool student and a high school teacher. Just as there are messed up students, there are also messed up teachers. Many of them teach virutally useless classes such as CALM (Career and Life Management), basket weaving, or… Marketing yourself! Whatever you do, let your decision be one that YOU can respect in yourself, one that will not damage you educationally, and one that will not have repercussions in later classes. You may want to talk to him one on one and ask if you can explain your point of view to him. Sounds strange, maybe, but it puts the onus on him to be reasonable. If he refuses your request, you then have grounds to take your request to a councellor or school admin. Good luck, stay cool, and never let the actions of another cause you to compromise yourself!
