How much does it hurt/cost to get ear cartilage pierced?

I’m thinking about getting the top of my ear pierced with a hoop and i was wondering how much it would hurt and cost to get it done. I understand everyone’s pain tolerance is different but will it hurt less or more than the earlobe? Also how would i take care of it while its healing?

A little less than a year ago, I got my cartilage pierced twice (two rings right next to each other) for free at Piercing Pagoda. It hurt more than the lobe piercing, but I wouldn’t say that was the bad part. For several weeks, it would hurt to lay on it, touch it, or anything.. Although, after that it was just fine. I have them now and I’ve had virtually no complications :) and they look great. You take care of them the same way you take care of a lobe piercing; rubbing it with the cleaning alcohol on a Q-tip or cotton swap, and twisting the piercings.

It didn’t hurt me at all. It was a little uncomfortable though. On a scale of 1-10, it was maybe a 2. It really isn’t anything to be scared of. I got both of mine pierced at Walmart and it was free with the purchase of the earrings. The earrings that I got were little blue studs and they were $10.

Sorry - didn’t see your other questions. For me, they hurt less than my ear lobe piercings. You clean them with the cleaning stuff they give you. Don’t sleep on them, IT HURTS SO MUCH. Don’t play with them. Keep them clean. Don’t hit them with your hair brush while brushing your hair. It’s basically like a lobe piercing, just the aftercare hurts so much more. Goodluck :)

No one can tell you how it’s going to feel for you, some people say they barely even felt it, but come on, it’s a needle going through cartilage, it is going to hurt to some degree. And I’m pretty sure for everyone it hurts more than the lobe as it goes through cartilage, not just skin. As for the cost, I don’t live in the same country as you so I wouldn’t have a clue but a good price is anywhere between $20 and $50. Remembering, you’re getting what you pay for so don’t get it done for a cheap price! Good luck! :)

Oh and as for cleaning it, I soaked mine in warm salty water once every day until it healed.
