why does my hp mini laptop volume stay down even though I bring it up?

it just started happening recently.. and even though i bring up my volume it would still go down.. and i have a hp mini… Please Help ):

you mean you drag it up and it auto just drags itself back down straight away?

what is your operating system and whats the model number? ive got a feeling its a dodgy driver.

yeah that is what I mean but it works perfect now but everynow n then it would draq back down.
