How to unlock my I-Pod?

If I let it die and then charge it will my lock turn off? I read about it a few minutes ago that this would help if your I-Pod froze and didnt do anything. Will it help a locked one?

unlock it? well, if it froze, and you tried to unlock it and it wouldn’t depending on which one you have, try resetting it.

Classics/nano verisons: Hold the “Menu” and middle button down at the same time. Wait till the apple logo appears.

Touch version: Hold the sleep/wake button and the home button at the same time until the apple logo appears.
