The trick to making it work is when you are combing it, make sure you have a big enough piece of hair so that the comb can properly grip it. Then when you are combing do it firmly in short fast strokes. You are basically pushing the hair back on itself which makes it bigger as a lot of hair is bunching up onto one spot making it thicker. You may hairspray it then comb it then have to do the process another time to really get it how you want it. I often go over it a few times and when it’s all done I finish with another light spray of hairspray to hold the whole look together.
Divide hair into large sections and use hairspray to spray underneath each section. Take a fine-tooth comb and comb backwards each piece starting from the bottom of your hair to just before the top, until it starts to have the teased look. Only do the underneath parts so it doesn’t just look like a big frizzy mess when you are done.
