How to pick a college?

I took my SATs this morning and now its finally settling in that I am applying for college in the fall and leaving in a year. I have no idea where I want to go except I know I want to go out of state. I’ve gotten so much in the mail, but none of them interest me. How do I find a college I want to attend? Are there any good, legit websites to look at? I don’t even know what I want to major in…

Different schools have different strengths and weaknesses.

When I was in high school I wanted to study jazz and the two best schools in the country were the Berklee College of Music and North Texas State University (now University of North Texas). I was accepted by both schools but NT being a state school was a lot cheaper.

If you have a list of interests do some research to see which schools have the best program in your field. Even if you don’t know exactly what you want to major in do you have an area? Sciences? visual arts? technology? engineering?

If you still don’t know what you want to study than perhaps you should go for a year or two to an inexpensive school and take classes in various fields until you decide what you want to do. After this you can transfer wherever you want to go.
