How to I get rid of Internet Security 2010?

It’s on my other computer, I hooked this one up cause it wouldn’t let me go to the Internet. What it is, is a fake anti spyware and it’s trying to get us to buy it. I can’t access internet on the computer it’s on, so how can I get rid of it without having to use the internet?

Answer #1

to be honest the only way to get rid of it is to reboot your comp..you may or may not lose files or documents but that sure will erase it

Answer #2

its a virus:

delete all these files/folders..

Program Files\InternetSecurity2010

WINDOWS\system32\41.exe

WINDOWS\system32\winhelper86.dll

WINDOWS\system32\winlogon86.exe

WINDOWS\system32\winupdate86.exe

UserProfile\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Internet Security 2010.lnk

UserProfile\Desktop\Internet Security 2010.lnk

UserProfile\Start Menu\Internet Security 2010.lnk

after their gone go:

start - run - type ‘regedit’ into the box that pops up - click ‘ok’ … the last 2 are the start up entrys: remember we only want to delete the ‘IS2010’ folder and the files Internet Security 2010 and winupdate86.exe

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IS2010

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run “Internet Security 2010″

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run “winupdate86.exe”

just be careful in registry…

a gd anti-virus will get rid of it for you too: I recommend AVG
