How to hook a PS2 online without running through the modem?
im very electronic illiterate. But we have dsl downstairs and want to play online upstairs. Is there a way to run it thru a laptop?
Hi,
You don’t have to run it through the modem, but can’t run it through a laptop. What you could do is run it through the router, assuming it’s on the upstairs floor.
If you are hooking it up to a router:
- Remove the sticker covering the network connector of the Network Adaptor.
- Connect an Ethernet network cable from the NETWORK connector of the Network Adaptor to an available LAN port of the router.
- Connect the WAN port of the router to the DSL or cable modem.
- Connect a personal computer (not pictured) to an available LAN port of the router. Use a web browser on the PC to set up the router to reach the Internet.
- Follow the specific instructions that come with the router. There is no additional installation for switches.
